Print It Your Way: A Textile Design Workshop

Young creatives are invited to explore the dynamic world of screen printing, learning how to transfer designs onto fabric. Using pre-exposed screens and DIY stencils, you鈥檒l get to play with the bold branding from Gray鈥檚 Degree Show 2025, experiment, mix it up, and make it your own.

This workshop fosters creativity, imagination, and confidence while introducing key photography concepts in a fun and engaging way.

2 hours - 10:00 - 12:00 OR 13:15 - 15:15

In this 2-hour workshop, you鈥檒l learn the basics of textile screen printing, a technique that uses a mesh screen to transfer ink onto fabric. The workshop will be held in our textile print workshop, where you鈥檒l have the opportunity to use your own screen and choose from a selection of pre-exposed designs from the branding of Gray鈥檚 Degree Show 2025.

You鈥檒l be encouraged to play and experiment with the branding, creating your own interpretations /versions of the designs.

Throughout the workshop, you鈥檒l explore layering techniques, learning how to print each layer to create dynamic compositions. Colour will be introduced using pigment printing pastes, and you鈥檒l work with the Gray鈥檚 Degree Show 2025 colour palette to experiment with mixing and layering effects.

The session will wrap up with a group critique, where you鈥檒l get to check out each other鈥檚 designs, reflect on your own work, and hear some feedback on the work you鈥檝e made.
